Sunny front town garden

A three week challenge from brief to completion to create a front garden to open as part of the Didsbury Open Gardens charity event.

The owner is an excellent gardener in her own right and naturally creative, however, she was stuck with what to do with a standard lawn and borders front garden and wanted to bring it up to the same standards as the back garden.

The design created an oval lawn with a rising wall leading to a raised water feature, to drown out traffic noise.  The shifting levels and path positions provide interest and visually tie to the drive by reusing setts in conjunction with other paving to create interesting surfaces.  The planting capitalises on the late afternoon and evening sun with bright eye catching floral planting with all year colour and foliage
