Large Wildlife Garden

A circular lawn captures sun throughout the day whereas the rest of the garden is at least partially shaded.  Gravel paths were dug down and the soil used to created levels and raised beds to create drainage for the boggy, heavy-clay soil.

Topiary and mature shrubs provide evergreen planting structure throughout the year with perennial planting for shade throughout woodland and herbaceous beds.

Planting decisions have been made entirely to support native wildlife with multiple ponds to provide drinking and bathing for birds and other wildlife.  Over 40 different species of birds visit the garden regularly as well as a badgers, foxes, hedgehogs, frogs and squirrels.
